As you know, former head of CNN Jeff Zucker has left the cable net. CNN’s Alisyn Camerota later said Zucker’s forced departure “feels wrong,” and before that media correspondents Brian Stelter and Oliver Darcy pondered their former boss’s “larger than life” legacy.
Don Lemon has now added his sendoff for Zucker, and it’s a doozy:
An emotional DON LEMON delivers a personal message on Jeff Zucker's exit from CNN:
"…Thank you Jeff Zucker for everything you did for everyone at this network and for what you did to the entire country — for the entire country." pic.twitter.com/QF4csjSDSY

First of all, “what he did to the entire country”? Heh…
Awesome Freudian slip there. https://t.co/hqruJtznAN pic.twitter.com/D2n2lJ0GLJ

"Tearful Freudian Slip" is a very specific thing https://t.co/x8fikulk0L

"what you did to the entire country"… https://t.co/FUgAdvjuyD

Sometimes they just say it out loud, even if by accident.
This is extremely embarrassing, not just for Don, but for all the professional journalists at CNN. https://t.co/jPG2CeraM0

“Embarrassing,” and then some.
It’s a cult. https://t.co/XNE99b9mHO

With all due, what did Jeff Zucker “do for the country” besides stoke division and promote charlatans (Avenatti et. al.) ? https://t.co/Gk2TY87gKb
— Alicia Smith (@Alicia_Smith19) February 5, 2022
CNN certainly did plenty for Nick Sandmann in the form of a settlement check after his defamation lawsuit.
This shows that the clowns at CNN still don't get it. https://t.co/dy2qFWzelN

He has zero interest in how Zucker skewed the news to his liking the last six years.

What's the end game here? Why the fawning praise, their ratings were in the 🚽

Journalists in general are deluded about their self-worth, but @CNN really takes the cake. https://t.co/eJOXca3SW4

"for what you did to the entire country." Yep, he helped make it the dumpster fire it is today. https://t.co/yOROZC4x3B

From all the CNN staffers who are "thanking" Jeff Zucker, I get the sense they expect him to set up shop elsewhere and want to stay in his good graces if they need jobs. Otherwise, how do you explain it?
— Micheline Maynard (@MickiMaynard) February 5, 2022
He resigned for banging a subordinate without disclosing it, and it was discovered during an investigation into his network covering up propaganda for a sex harasser https://t.co/kMGXQSm2Xh

Judging from Lemon’s comments you’d think Zucker had been a saint.
