It’s looking increasingly like the Senate Democrats (and House impeachment managers) won’t be able to win over enough Republicans to extend the trial into a witness phase. But even if that happens, Democrats will continue to pursue any and all avenues to tarnish Trump ahead of the November election, and so will at least one self-described “conservative.” The Washington Post’s Jennifer Rubin has put forth a fresh strategy for Dems:
1. Move for a mistrial. 2. Call Bolton to testify next week in the House.

Just when you thought all this couldn’t get more desperate and sad:
You can't have a mistrial in the Senate, you absolute nutjob. https://t.co/GplQ7m6s9p

That's not how this works (though House can still continue to investigate) https://t.co/en84ee73hM

It's not the claim to conservatism that bothers me, because that sort of identity BS is silly and common.
But people read her say "move for a mistrial" as if that's really a thing and then they tell their equally gullible friends that it's a thing ?♂️ https://t.co/HRL78Sg4U9

And if the re-impeachment strategy doesn’t work, maybe the subsequent re-re-impeachment effort will succeed! *Eye roll*
The absolute desperation is just so pathetic

One of the funniest accounts on twitter. A week after being in awe of Schiff she begs for a mistrial. ??? https://t.co/XOo95G7YUi

Last week Rubin thanked God she was around to hear Schiff’s performance. But apparently it’s time to wish for a mistrial.
