CNN's Jeffrey Toobin regrets 'blowing this story out of proportion' in 2016 (Hint: NOT 'Russia collusion')

We’ve now reached the point in the Trump presidency where the media start to beg for forgiveness for reporting on select stories that were unfolding nearly three years ago. CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin shows how it’s done:

New York University journalism professor Jay Rosen — who recently said that reporters asking Elizabeth Warren if middle-class taxes would rise to help pay for Medicare-for-All are destroying the media’s credibility — is among those who appreciated Toobin’s gesture:

Many others replied that Toobin’s mea culpa comes “too late.” But isn’t it odd that the media isn’t regretting blowing something else way out of proportion:

Many in the media are still clinging to that narrative.

You’ve got to love that the election of Trump has devolved into the media apologizing for reporting the actual news but not the “fake news” they’ve helped promote.
