As we’ve told you in previous weeks and months, there are people (such as Bill Maher and NBC News’ Richard Engel) who are so opposed to Donald Trump that they freely admit an economic recession would be a welcome sight to Democrats heading into the 2020 election. If Maher and Engel were watching MSNBC today, they might have been happy to know that anchor Stephanie Ruhle predicts (or perhaps hopes) that a recession is imminent:

Ruhle said that it’s been so long since the country has dipped into a recession that it could be “about time” for another to occur:

RUHLE: “A recession is OK. A recession is a normal part of economic activity. We see them upturns and downturn. A recession doesn’t mean it’s a crisis. But if you’re a sitting president, you don’t necessarily want a recession on your watch. You want people feeling good. But seeing that we have been in economic expansion for the better part of 10 years, it’s about time we get a recession.
If there is another recession in the future the lefty media can go from crediting Obama for the good economy to blaming Trump for a bad one:
