President Trump’s Oval Office speech last night triggered a lot of Resistance Dems who are arguing against his plan, and one of them was Dem Rep. Juan Vargas of California:
VIDEO – Dem Rep. Juan Vargas: ‘Absolute Nonsense’ There’s a Crisis on the Border; ‘It’s Basically Paradise’ in San Diego @donlemon https://t.co/tcDfOj0era

Here’s what Vargas told CNN’s Don Lemon, via Grabien:
LEMON: “So the president claimed that law enforcement had requested some $5.7 billion for the wall. He also claimed — claimed that Democrats requested it to be a steel barrier instead of a concrete wall. Is that true?”
VARGAS: “No, it’s not true at all. In fact, it’s interesting listening to all the rhetoric. I live along the border, about a little over ten miles from the border. It’s San Diego. I mean, it’s basically paradise. It’s one of the safest places in the country. And the notion that we have a crisis there, a security crisis, is absolute nonsense.
Paradise? In that case, a little context is necessary:
Guess what else there is in San Diego? A wall. Hence the reason the caravan is still in Tijuana. https://t.co/wqhFtdMKwW

Rep. Vargas’ dismissal of the effectiveness of border barriers seems to have gone down in flames.
That’s why Cali politicians don’t care about the rest of the border protections required, because they have this https://t.co/1ru7FcFTVU I would like to know how much Federal Funding was spent in this.
