We’ve already rolled our eyes at “Chappaquiddick” spin shared by the likes of NBC News (on two occasions) and the New York Times. Next up, the Washington Post presented this spin:
Analysis: Ted Kennedy spoke of a family curse after Chappaquiddick. He had good reason. https://t.co/SCA290iKMQ
— The Washington Post (@washingtonpost) April 7, 2018
As far as Ted goes, is this really a “curse”?
Hang on, he wasn’t the one who drowned!

Also, Ted didn’t go to jail, and his post-Chappaquiddick life was followed by a several decade career in the Senate for the wealthy Kennedy. So basically it depends on what your definition of a “curse” is.

Dui with a babe off a bridge is quite a curse.

Cursed no. Drunk yes!

Why do bad things always happen to him? https://t.co/83bZYwQxi9

The media spin machine has sure been working overtime since “Chappaquiddick” came out.
