Rolling Stone reporter deletes tweet calling John Fetterman's wife the 'de facto candidate' in Pa.

Gisele Fetterman, the wife of Pennsylvania Democrat Senate candidate John Fetterman, has been in the spotlight more and more of late, and Rolling Stone featured her in a story:

There was another tweet, but that was deleted. Here’s the explanation:

This was the tweet… any guesses as to why it was considered delete-worthy?

The “de facto candidate” eh? Interesting.

Would Pennsylvanians who decide to go Democrat next month be voting for John, or Gisele?

Gisele Fetterman had replied to the now-deleted tweet:

Fetterman certainly didn’t seem to mind the original tweet.

Perhaps it was a little TOO accurate. But “journalism” or something.

“De fact candidate” still appears in the Rolling Stone story:

Then her husband had a stroke four days before the primary for the U.S. Senate. Suddenly, the reluctant political spouse became the de facto candidate. “I just had to survive, I just had to go,” she says of that time. Did she consider asking John to step out of the race? “It wasn’t my decision to make,” she says. “If you have the ability to make lives better, then it’s your duty to do so. And if he has the green light from every doctor, then I support that.”

To find herself center stage in one of cycle’s most-watched Senate races is one of the many times Gisele has found herself somewhere she never expected to be. The first was Queens, New York, as a frightened newcomer; later, the depressed steel town of Braddock, Pennsylvania, as the wife of a new mayor; and this year, as the key surrogate for her husband in his race for U.S. Senate.

The media seem determined to help get Fetterman (either one of them) across the midterm finish line.
