I never thought I was going to have children, but as it ended up, I have two, ages 26 and 30. Both are more successful than I'll ever be, and they're the thing I'm most proud of in my life.
Chappell Roan is a singer who's popular — not Taylor Swift popular, but popular — and I had to check Google for her age. She's 27, and she doesn't know anyone her age who has young children and is happy. "All of my friends with kids are in hell," she tells a podcaster. I had my daughter at 27, and that was (and still is) considered "early" by my friends. I wasn't in hell, ever. So, I'm not sure what kind of friends Roan is hanging out with, but I know they're childless.
This podcast interview is from the spring, but Defiant L's brought it to my attention this week.

That's legitimately sad.
Maybe reconsider the friends you hang out with.

Selfish people expect kids to fit into their lives. Families that thrive evolve around children and parents doing life together.

What's crazy to me about comments like this is if you put yourself in the shoes of the child. Imagine little 3-year-old Chappell Roan (Kayleigh Rose) being told that her parents are in "hell" for having her and they are not happy because they had her. It's like she forgets that…

I'm guessing that's a pretty pathetic friend group.

Sounds like that circle of friends is awful. You become the company you keep...

She has a successful career (now) and doesn't want to ruin it by becoming a mother.
Check back in 10 years
