This is one of those posts where I had to look it up myself because I didn't believe it. You might remember back in 2018 when publisher HarperCollins released a new edition of "Goodnight Moon" that had author Clement Hurd's cigarette Photoshopped out, right?
It's fascinating to me how many Hollywood actors are pro-gun-control and yet have no problem wielding fully automatic weapons in their movies, and how many movie posters there are of them holding firearms.
According to the SpyHards podcast, Amazon Prime Video has redone its promotional images for all of the James Bond films, with the guns either Photoshopped out or alternate covers used. "The Man With the Golden Gun" doesn't have a golden gun anymore, we guess.
So, Amazon has digitally removed firearms from the key art on all the James Bond movies on its platform…

Shocking if you ask me, but what are your thoughts on the choice? pic.twitter.com/oP4sGE7XSr
Pierce Brosnan looks like he's supposed to be holding something. Weird.
Here’s all of them. Yikes. pic.twitter.com/Iv4LIhxM1F

Licensed to kill, but not licensed to carry a firearm.
To be fair, this isn't what I'm seeing on Amazon Prime, but I did notice that all of the images they've picked to represent the movies are gun-free. Maybe this is a U.K. thing?
Shame they left the gun in the 007 logo - how will we sleep at night

If verified true, that's just dumb virtue signaling.

Hey @amazon have you guys ever actually watched a Bond movie? You know what goes on in them right?
— Ben L. J. Brooks (@benljbrooks) October 4, 2025
It's not as if his has a licence to kill (and has done so on numerous occasions) or anything like that. I suppose we should be thankful they didn't replace the Walther with a walkie-talkie

Like they did in "E.T."
Incredibly soulless. Not just the removal of the guns, which is bad enough, but the context less void they're all floating in. Where's the movie posters? With the exciting composition? Sad. Just pathetic.

Is there anybody in 2025 who really doesn't know who or what James Bond is? It's difficult to believe there's someone out there saying, "It seems this Bond fellow employs some rather extreme methods, I had no idea he was a purveyor of such violence."

Many of them look like the photos of real estate agents that they include in their marketing materials. This is ridiculous.

Empty holsters are just stupid as fuck, too.

Again, I'm not sure exactly where they appear, but the bold choice to have Bond just standing there doesn't really generate any excitement. This looks like an old J.C. Penney catalog layout for suits.
