I had plenty of stories in the queue for today, and came on just as news broke that Turning Point USA's Charlie Kirk had been shot and killed at an event at Utah Valley University. Obviously, that changed everything. I'm actually sitting here sweating, pounding out posts about reactions, both good and bad, to Kirk's death.
I had the feeling something was coming. From all of the tough-guy rhetoric coming from Gov. Gavin Newsom and Gov. JB Pritzker about President Donald Trump threatening to clean up crime in their cities, I just knew that someone was going to take it too far and get killed. I was guessing that someone from law enforcement or ICE was going to be killed and set off a powder keg … I didn't suspect it would be, as someone so well put it, "the nice version." Kirk took his message into hostile territory in search of good faith debate, but free speech is too much for the Left to handle. Kirk had to be silenced.
I see that the boss already has six stories queued up for Thursday morning. It would be pointless to try to write posts about all of the hateful things people have said … I catch the ones that I see go by in my feed, but the stream is endless and there's no way to catch up. That's why I was happy to do a post about Prime Ministers Giorgia Meloni and Benjamin Netanyahu sending their condolences to the conservative community and thanking Kirk for standing up for Judeo-Christian civilization.
The New Republic, after deleting its awful tweet about "MAGA troll" Kirk being shot, quickly pivoted and went the "Republicans pounce" route, noting how the "far-right" was blaming the Left for Kirk's murder. Yes, we are. As examples of the far-right, the writer at The New Republic referred to X posts by Elon Musk and James Woods.
It’s not gun violence. It’s Democrat violence. pic.twitter.com/HpoJFOAVNw

You probably already follow Woods and know that his feed today has been straight fire. But not all:
This is what they destroyed today. I am so heartbroken, I can’t speak. pic.twitter.com/8v4OF6nLkM

What a far-right extremist, right?
A Twitchy reader, Grizzly Joe (@GrizzlyJoeShow), tipped us off after Kirk had been shot that actor Chris Pratt was sending his prayers for Kirk. I didn't get around to it quickly enough, but I just want to say how brave it is for a Hollywood actor with an actual career to both 1) send prayers, and 2) pray for Charlie Kirk.
Praying for Charlie Kirk right now, for his wife and young children, for our country. We need God’s grace. God help us.
— Chris Pratt (@prattprattpratt) September 10, 2025
What a beautiful post. I'm amazed that Pratt can still find roles and that he hasn't been blacklisted. It's comforting to know that there's someone in Hollywood, some celebrity that actually has a good heart.
Amen. Our nation is sick and slowly dying. We need to stop treating the symptoms and start treating the disease. We need God.

As I've said in other VIP posts, I'm a reluctant atheist. When someone says, "We need God," I agree with them. And I have no problem sending up a prayer for Kirk's family. Hopefully, I'm wrong and that prayer will reach its intended recipient.
Praying for Charlie Kirk and his whole family🙏🙏

Thank you. Means a lot. 🙏🏻

It's good to see more people in Hollywood finally speaking out. Respect to you Chris.

Yes, massive respect. I'm guessing they don't talk politics on the set much.
It was just a week ago that liberals were pissing all over "thoughts and prayers" after the Catholic school shooting in Minneapolis. As Newsom said, "Those kids were literally praying!" Even I know that prayer doesn't work that way. No, Jesus doesn't magically appear and stop the bullets. But you can pray for the children who died. You can pray that their families find comfort in God.
Anyway, I'm a Chris Pratt fan. Well, I was before, but I'm even more so now. Hooray for Hollywood.
