Memo: Republicans cheer as Vladimir Putin 'takes credit for global inflation and rising gas prices'

As Twitchy reported earlier, prices rose in March 8.5 percent over a year ago, making it the biggest annual increase in four decades. The mainstream media is doing its best to help the Biden administration spin that terrible number, blaming the rising costs of everything on “Putin’s price hike.” NBC News even tweeted that “Inflation hits 40-year high of 8.5 percent due to war in Ukraine.” How that explains the previous year’s steady rise in gas prices we’re not sure.

Byron York has a piece in the Washington Examiner today looking at the inflation numbers, and he shared a press release from the War Room that explained in very few words that Republicans are cheering on Putin’s price hikes as Putin “takes credit” for global inflation and rising gas prices.

“Instead of blaming Putin for rising prices — like the majority of Americans”? Citation needed.

Elizabeth Warren is still beating the drum of price gouging and corporate greed. Maybe it’s really corporate greed but Putin is just taking credit for it.

Well said.

Jen Psaki, too, is blaming inflation on the “Putin price hike” — that’s the administration’s story and they’re sticking to it. And Republicans, who love Putin, are cheering him on because they know their voters love higher prices.
