There’s a story on Popsugar that breaks the bad news: author J.K. Rowling will make a profit from the upcoming film, “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.” She did write the book and the screenplay, after all. So if you were torn over supporting Rowling, who has insisted that women are real, know that part of your ticket purchase will end up in her pocket. “The simple fact of the matter is that Rowling profits from all Harry Potter content, whether she’s the face of the franchise or not.” What to do?
Andrew Sullivan is wandering into Rowling territory by arguing that there is such a thing as the gender binary and that boys and girls are real things, even though there’s plenty of children’s literature available now that assures them of the opposite.
"At some point, gay men need to face down those who deny the biological differences in the human body that make homosexuality possible. If there is no sex binary, there is no homosexuality."https://t.co/gI94m0rmTD

Sullivan writes on Substack, home of all sorts of “conservatives” who’ve been driven off respectable platforms:
“Born Ready: The True Story Of A Boy Named Penelope” takes things a little further. When Penelope announces she’s a boy, we get the familiar: “However you feel is fine, baby. It’s what’s on the inside that matters most. If you feel like a boy, that’s okay.” Then we get CQT: “No, Mama, I don’t feel like a boy. I am a boy.” Penelope’s mother later says: “Penelope is not a pretend boy or a tomboy. He is our five-year-old big boy.” The lesson here is that your body doesn’t matter. In another book, “When Aidan Became A Brother,” we get more insight, when Aidan’s mom gets pregnant:
“Are you having a boy or a girl?” asked a lady. Aidan didn’t like it when people asked if he was a boy or a girl, and he hoped the baby couldn’t hear yet. He was glad when Mom just smiled and said, “I’m having a baby.”
Before long, as you peruse the material, you see a consistent message being sent to children: that being a boy or a girl has nothing to do with your body; and that you can “become” either, both or “something else entirely.”
CQT up there stands for critical gender theory.
Sullivan did get some support:
Spot. On.

“The lesson here is that your body doesn’t matter.” Correct, that is what they are teaching. However it does matter very much. #sexmatters

Exactly, this. LGB needs to disassociate from TRA extremists. Their interests are not only not aligned — they're opposed. And the backlash against TRA extremism — which is widespread and justified! — threatens to undo a lot of goodwill and progress made in last 15+ years

We’ve seen a few people tweet that LBG needs a divorce from the rest of the alphabet. And why not? Have you seen the “progressive pride” flags they’ve put together that take the original rainbow flag and add stripes for transgender people and people of color, a purple circle for intersex people, and even a red umbrella for sex workers? As we’ve noted, the White House seems to have officially settled on LGBTQIA+ as sufficient … although we learned from @libsoftiktok that Duke’s Office for Institutional Equity has settled on — no joke — LGBTQQIP2SAA.
I agree w/ your specific position here, but man, what did you think was going to happen? After pushing LGBTQQIAAPP2S+ enough to get what you want, did you think there were brakes on the train?
Of course the feminists absurdly blaming 'the patriarchy' helped bring us here too.

Andrew, can you please name specific gay leaders you're referring to here?
"…gay rights leaders are now telling gay men they should force themselves to be attracted to vaginas…"

We’re not sure, but there was a study that showed a majority of heterosexuals said they wouldn’t date trans folk, and that was discrimination.
Andrew, this is happening in Canada too. I just argued a case involving a teacher who advised her grade one class that "there's no such thing as boys and girls". It led one young girl to struggle with understanding reality, if girls weren't even real. https://t.co/tjKXMYnad5

And this is what they want to be taught starting in kindergarten, and they’ve got plenty of resources to do just that.
