It was last fall when Sen. Jim Risch asked Secretary of State Antony Blinken who at the White House has the authority to cut off President Joe Biden’s microphone. Risch wouldn’t have asked if we all hadn’t seen it happen more than a few times. Blinken assured Risch that no one was cutting off Biden’s microphone.
As much as we don’t believe that, we also don’t believe White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield, who handled Tuesday’s press briefing while Jen Psaki quarantines with COVID-19. Bedingfield assured a reporter that only President Biden decides what he is going to say … which might be why the White House has had to walk back four of his claims in as many days.

White House advisors didn’t consult Biden before sending out that statement walking back his remarks from Poland, and Biden said Monday that he hadn’t walked back anything.
Is Bedingfield telling us Biden doesn’t have a speechwriter either?
