Forbes: Tucker Carlson leads Fox News to a big ratings win in April

Tucker Carlson’s been in the news quite a bit recently, especially after a segment in which he suggested viewers call child protective services on parents who have their kids in masks. As Twitchy reported, MSNBC contributor Frank Figliuzzi feared there would be violence if Carlson didn’t retract his statement, and the Washington Post’s Erik Wemple sent out inquiries to 15 state-level child-protection agencies across the country to see if they’d gotten calls; none had.

Fox News’ ratings took a hit after election night, but Forbes reports that Tucker Carlson still leads the prime time cable news pack:

Mark Joyella reports:

Fox News Channel’s Tucker Carlson was the most-watched host in cable news in April, leading all other shows with an average audience of more than 3 million viewers. Tucker Carlson Tonight also finished first among viewers 25-54 on the month, with an average audience of 523,000 viewers, according to ratings data compiled by Nielsen.

In prime time overall, Fox News finished well ahead of the cable news competition with an average audience of 2.24 million viewers, followed by MSNBC (1.6 million viewers) and CNN (1.0 million viewers).

So Fox News draws more than double the audience that CNN does; no wonder Brian Stelter is obsessed with it.

It was dangerous when Carlson said kids didn’t need masks outdoors, but it was cause for celebration the next day when President Biden announced that people didn’t need masks outdoors anymore.
