There was an awkward moment Friday when, just an hour after tweeting how he was looking forward to welcoming Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga to the White House, and under-the-weather President Biden was a no-show, leaving it to Vice President Kamala Harris to fill in.
Biden did meet with Suga later, where he referred to 29-year-old Master’s champion Hideki Matsuyama as a “Japanese boy coming over here.” The two then sat down for a meal of a burger and fries — with Harris looming nearby — and as Brit Hume noticed, Biden, despite being vaccinated and sitting down for a meal, was photographed wearing two masks.

The masks have become a sort of ceremonial symbol much like a powdered wig, a cardinals hat, or a North Korean pin of the dear leaders. It shows your compliance with the state and normality and submission.
