Scott Adams wants national leaders to call for calm now in preparation for the Derek Chauvin verdict

Washington, D.C. still looks like a war zone in the wake of the January 6 storming of the Capitol Building, but the much bigger threat of violence is in Minneapolis after the verdict comes down in the trial of former police officer Derek Chauvin, who’s charged with second-degree unintentional felony murder, third-degree “depraved mind” murder, and second-degree manslaughter in the death of George Floyd.

Minneapolis knows what’s coming, and the boards and fences have already gone up. Scott Adams is calling on the nation’s leaders to start now in dissuading violence following the announcement of the verdict. The chance is pretty slim, seeing as Vice President Kamala Harris promoted the Minneapolis Freedom Fund to bail out people who’d been arrested in the rioting, looting, and arson after Floyd’s death. But imagine if she and President Biden went on TV and pleaded for peace.

That doesn’t mean there won’t be riots once they find out for how long he’s going to prison.

Those always work — how about another rousing rendition of “Imagine”?
