We’ve never heard of Disrn, but the site is reporting Wednesday night that fact-checking site Snopes contacted the White House after President Trump retweeted a story from the satirical Babylon Bee.

Here’s the original tweet that Trump retweeted, posted by Jenna Ellis, senior legal advisor to the Trump 2020 campaign:
The Bee mocking the Dems: “We have found Trump guilty of absolutely nothing, but we already started this whole process and it would look bad to back out now, so here we are." ???? https://t.co/wPpxk0Oz2o

Disrn says it obtained an email from Snopes’ Dan Evon to the White House which read:
President Trump recently retweeted a post from @JennaEllisEsq containing a fake quote from an entertainment article.
Was President Trump aware that this quote was fake when he sent it? If so, why wasn’t it accompanied by a message labeling the quote as fiction?
Because the vast majority of people recognize satire when they see it?
I won't believe this until @snopes fact-checks whether or not @snopes fact checked a retweet of satirical article, and that @snopes fact checks the actual existence of the fact checkers of @snopes.
Then I'll wait for @TheOnion to confirm this confirmation.

Tbh the @TheBabylonBee has been more accurate than @cnn so it’s fair to get confused on which is legit and which is satire

.@snopes fact-checks @TheBabylonBee, but not Schiff's parody of Trump's phone call to Zelensky.

Snopes has gone so far down the rabbit hole these last few years. I remember when it just debunked Nigerian Prince emails.

Perhaps they figured people knew about Babylon Bee already? And because although satirical it was pretty true. ?
— Ruth Mahoney (@qwiltlady) December 11, 2019
Perhaps Snopes doesn't like Babylon Bee to be in competition with CNN or MSNBC?
— Bruce Meyer (@bmeyer909) December 11, 2019
Oh for goodness sake. It was funny. Too many people have lost their sense of humor, mostly in the last 3 years ?
— Amyks (@AmyKSpittler) December 11, 2019
these people are humorless scolds + out of their minds but you already knew that.#FactChecked #Science

The Democrats have become such a parody of a parody that even their propaganda drones like Snopes aren't sure where the reality ends and their unhinged overlords begin.

They have no sense of humor, clearly illustrated by numerous dismal Democratic memes. It’s puzzling to me. They just really can’t do it. It takes a certain level of wry humor to get it right.
— Alarmed Observer (@heaven18) December 11, 2019
It’s another instance where the left takes the President literally when he’s clearly being humorous, and they never take him seriously when they ought to.

"Was President Trump aware that this quote was fake when he sent it? If so, why wasn't it accompanied by a message labeling the quote as fiction?"
The same reason @snopes articles aren't accompanied by a message labeling them as fiction, smart people already know.— William Eaton (@nyhcinaz) December 11, 2019
Full disclosure: The guy who wrote the story is part-owner of the Babylon Bee.
I've pasted the disclosure from the article. Did you see it when you read the article?
Full disclosure: The Babylon Bee is owned in part by Adam Ford, and Disrn is owned in part by Seth Dillon. Adam can be reached at [email protected], and Seth can be reached at [email protected].— Broken (@Brian_Bokenyi) December 11, 2019
