As Twitchy has reported, the mainstream media hasn’t exactly covered itself in glory over the gruesome massacre of three Mormon women and six of their children in Mexico. The New York Times decided it was time to look at “the long history of religious fundamentalist settlers in the region,” while the Los Angeles Times — for real — posted that the victims of the massacre “were tied to family with a long history of violence.”
Brandon Darby has been covering the border since before the mainstream media showed any interest (that is, when Obama-era photos of kids in cages resurfaced), and his disgust is palpable.
Some distant relatives did something 40 years ago…. Did Mexico’s government take over your editorial board or do you just voluntarily help them smear victims of cartel violence? In Mexico they kill you twice, like I said. https://t.co/vObWXCj90A

Serious question, @latimes. Did someone in Mexico promise you access or exclusives if you agreed to help smear these victims of cartel violence? Trying to understand why you’d do this. https://t.co/vObWXCj90A

Or is it that “the border is safe” narrative means so much to your editors politically that you just decided to piss on the bodies of the women and children killed in order to protect that narrative? @latimes

Note to US citizens in Mexico: Don’t get killed there. If you do, US media outlets will crap all over you in order to blur the reality of how dangerous it is in Mexico. They will find some distant relative that did something 40 years ago and smear your dead body with it.

Yeah, that brutal massacre really did a number of “the border is safe” narrative. Let’s just open it up!
@brandondarby; Apparently the LA Times, NYT and Washington Post are having a "race to the dirt bottom lowest" headline of 2019. This is worse than TDS…..

They are embracing the ethos of the administration of Felipe Calderone – always tie the victims to the cartels. That’s where the phrase “they kill you twice in Mexico, first they kill you then they kill your reputation” came from. #NoPasaNada

These American citizens were killed on the Mexico side of the border. Is your TDS so entrenched that you can’t see border security is imperative that we must continue to push Congress to DO THEIR JOB? A win for America even if it means a win for Trump also!

I think too that it's BOTH. Such a win win win. Denigrate the Christian Mormons, get paid for spreading Cartel Propaganda, AND get to slam Trump again that the Border is not a crisis. Weeeee, we is winning against Orange Man.

According to the MSM, they are not "violent cartels", but "austere pharmaceutical scholars"

I’ve known devout Mormons for decades through various work/sports activities. They are consistently among the kindest, most generous people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. They are drenched with unselfishness, charity, peace.
This spin? DISGUSTING.

Open Border Democrats must know how this story is resonating with Americans. Desperately trying to change the narrative & them memory hole this story. Begins with smearing the victims as odd ball weirdos

Next up: they were killed in self defense ?

Oh, and as far as President Trump’s tweet that it’s time to declare war on the Mexican drug cartels?
