British police use cartoon tomato to urge citizens to report transgender hate crimes

We love police, we love the British, but sometimes we worry about them both. We’ve done a few posts on British police tweeting pictures of things they’ve picked up in weapons sweeps, like a gardening trowel and a rusty spoon. And somehow they managed to get Cookie Monster involved by plastering his face on handy knife disposal bins around the city:

So we’re not really surprised that first, the Devon & Cornwall Police are urging people to report hate crimes like, um, snickering at someone, and second, they’ve put together a cartoon to show how hurtful hate crimes can be. Look at that poor tomato … is it supposed to use the restroom for fruits or the one for vegetables? Best call the police and report it.
