As Twitchy reported, following some really gruesome remarks on infanticide by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam, Sen. Ben Sasse decided to get his colleagues on the record: did they believe that a baby who survived a botched abortion should be given medical treatment like any other infant born alive, or should it be left to die as intended?
In this country, all of us are created equal. If that equality means anything, surely it means that infanticide is wrong. Frankly, this shouldn’t be hard. pic.twitter.com/9MyPVGpw7p

It shouldn’t have been hard, but it was for Democrats; they blocked the legislation in the Senate.
So while the bogus #EqualPayDay rides high on the Twitter trends Tuesday, conservatives are trying to get the #EndInfantide hashtag moving, and several legislators are using the hashtag to call for a vote on the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act in the House.

? BREAKING → House Republicans just formed a long line on the House Floor to sign my discharge petition that will force a vote on the Born Alive Act & make all members tell the American people where they stand on infanticide. Now let’s see if Democrats will join us. #LetUsVote pic.twitter.com/Sjh7QnXb1Z

The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act is about protecting the basic human rights of children who are born alive. I am proud to stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves. #EndInfanticide pic.twitter.com/h5jHavPx3C

?TODAY?@SteveScalise filed a discharge petition to force a vote on the #BornAliveAct.
I call on my friends on both sides of the aisle to join us in what SHOULD be a bipartisan effort to protect the lives of our most vulnerable and innocent citizens. #EndInfanticide #LetUsVote pic.twitter.com/g2SoAGwK7v
— Rep. Mike Johnson (@RepMikeJohnson) April 2, 2019
Newborns who survive abortions deserve to be granted the same legal protections and life-saving medical care as any other baby. This shouldn’t even be a partisan issue, but House Dems have blocked our efforts time and time again. Why do they object? #EndInfanticide #LetUsVote pic.twitter.com/BeSBuAoWYh
— House Republicans (@HouseGOP) April 2, 2019
Some people still don’t get it.
What the Hell? Infanticide? Where in the world do you get the idea that ANYONE is for infanticide? Fetuses are NOT INFANTS and absolutely not one doctor is ever going to kill a baby on purpose while or after it is born. You republicans are one sick bunch.
— Carla Frank (@TweetThis620) April 2, 2019
Um, it’s no longer a fetus if it’s been delivered as the result of a botched abortion attempt. And if it’s been delivered, it’s born. Like Sasse said, this shouldn’t be hard.
Dems will vote present
— Eddie (@EddiePulley) April 2, 2019
I'm guessing there will be a lot of "Present" votes?
— Kang (@Kang29497304) April 2, 2019
No vote needed. We know exactly where they stand. They tell it loud and proud to Tv, newspapers and social media ever single day.

So #EndInfanticide is trending and if you never thought you'd see the day when infanticide was legal in America… My friends, what have we done? What are we doing? Go see @UnplannedMovie & consider the reality & mindsets of such legislation. Let's get everyone on the record.
