US internet speeds increase since end of net neutrality, possibly because everyone's dead

Remember when the FCC voted 3-2 to repeal Obama-era net neutrality rules and CNN framed it like this?

Remember how Google searches were going to cost $2 a pop? And worst of all, remember NARAL warning us all that a rollback of net neutrality would have a “devastating impact on progressive organizers, activists, and our right to access vital, accurate information” about reproductive health? How could women who couldn’t afford $2 per Google search find a nearby abortion provider?

It might not be a direct result of the net neutrality repeal, but The Daily Caller reports Tuesday that U.S. internet speeds have increased, placing America sixth in terms of broadband speeds.

Was the repeal of net neutrality responsible for the United States moving up in the rankings? Maybe not, but we’re thankful someone is still maintaining the death watch.
