This is incredible. We already know that not one but four Broward County Sheriff’s Office deputies took up positions outside Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School rather than enter the school and engage the shooter.
Now, Brian Entin of WSVN in Miami has spoken to an emergency medical responder who was one of the first on the scene and spoke on condition of anonymity:
"Everything I was trained on mass casualty events says they did the wrong thing." I spoke with a seasoned emergency medical responder who was one of the first to the Stoneman shooting. He doesn't want me using his name for fear he will get fired. Here are his exact quotes. @wsvn pic.twitter.com/t9trsOEaek

“Everything I was trained on mass casualty events says they did the wrong thing.”
“I would have risked my life to go in. I was eager to.”
“All they had to do was drag [the wounded] out of the building. And we could have started medical care.”
The Coral Springs fire chief said this at a press conference a few days ago: "I can tell you that we set up a triage area and we had a steady stream of victims coming out. The officers that went in from all the agencies did a fantastic job getting them to us as fast as possible."

Jaw-dropping assessment from EMT on the scene. https://t.co/A5qUk6co2I

Oh great. So now we’re learning officers not only didn’t go in to stop the shooter, but the scene commander also prevented medics from retrieving victims from the school—the exact thing their training called for.
Seriously, how is this the NRA’s fault? https://t.co/Jg9OoafsBZ

The is truly outrageous. Sickening how the response to the attack was handled. https://t.co/KJcqYhbHSU

THEY FAILED YOU.
Law enforcement failed #MSD shooting victims at every turn. https://t.co/n8ffJNLgFK— Sandy 〽️ (@RightGlockMom) February 24, 2018

I have been retired from law enforcement for several years but trained in active shooter after Columbine. Even now I would not hesitate to use my training to enter a building and make every attempt to neutralize a shooter. Any officer that didn't is a coward https://t.co/zGBX3R1owN

There is no bottom to get to, no final stone to turn, when it comes to the failure of Scott Israel and the BSO.
My gut feeling that some of the victims could've been saved… It's here to stay.

Who was the incident commander here? One of the Broward Cowards? https://t.co/clFq07U0fq

Heartbreaking.
“One victim he saw didn’t get out to an ambulance for at least forty-five minutes.” https://t.co/wRr08DUF3k

Took longer for the EMT's to be allowed in the building than it did for @enterprisecares to boycott NRA https://t.co/u8LfpeNjSc

Maybe that national town hall thing could have waited a little bit until we knew some actual facts. https://t.co/clFq07U0fq

Maybe we need a 2 week waiting period for CNN Townhalls? https://t.co/Jqf9gmh8jx
