Man says he was just venting when he threatened to shoot Congresswoman between the eyes

A 58-year-old employee of the Tucson Unified School District who has been charged in federal court with threatening to assault and murder a United States official said he was just “venting anger with the help of a buzz.”

That anger — surprise! — reportedly was over Rep. Martha McSally’s support of President Donald Trump.

Voice mails left at McSally’s office described more than wringing her neck, though.

The Tucson Sentinel reports that Steve Martan called McSally’s office three times and threatened to shoot her between the eyes: “Yeah Martha, our sights are set on you, right between the eyes … Can’t wait to fucking pull the trigger bitch,” Martan allegedly said.

Martan, a campus monitor at Miles Exploratory Learning Center, also told McSally her days were numbered. Authorities had no problem tracking him down, as caller ID recorded his cell number on McSally’s office phone.

A representative from Indivisible, the group that has coordinated mass protests at GOP town halls across the country, issued a statement saying, “We believe that education and meaningful communication are the best and most effective tools to ensure representation in a democracy.”
