U.S. Customs and Border Protection on Monday tweeted a photo of a device they say led to passengers on a United Airlines flight to Chicago being trapped on the tarmac in Toronto for four hours earlier this month when it was found in someone’s luggage during an inspection at the airport’s pre-clearance area.

Clearly a child's mock alarm clock for some such school project. Kid should be on their way to the white house by now…

Police arrested Joseph Galaska of Wisconsin for having a “mock improvised explosive device” in his bag, but his wife told WISN, “I swear to God it’s a clock. It was not a bomb at all, but an alarm clock.” Police said their investigation was not terrorism related.
Though authorities determined the device was not a bomb, Galaska was charged with one count of mischief in connection with the incident.
