Russia's got jokes! Embassy trolls Hillary's campaign manager over allegations of hacked election

It turns out that we at Twitchy aren’t the only ones to have noticed that Russia’s alleged “hacking” of the 2016 presidential election, a topic which absolutely dominated the news cycle in December, dropped off the media’s radar the day Donald Trump was inaugurated.

Mother Jones picked up on that phenomenon as well, but we think it’s particularly rich that interim DNC chair Donna Brazile retweeted the magazine’s post. Brazile, of course, has a personal interest in Putin’s alleged meddling, as her hacked email to the Clinton campaign about sometimes getting town hall questions in advance was among the most damning of Wikileaks’ info dumps.

Whatever did happen to the Trump–Russia story? BuzzFeed’s dump of that super-secret and super-fake dossier didn’t do much to help the media’s credibility, but Democrats now are ready to revive the story by demanding an investigation, and Hillary Clinton’s former campaign manager, Robby Mook, this week in the Guardian called Russian hacking “a serious and persistent security threat” to the U.S. and Europe.

The Russian Embassy in the U.K. was less than impressed with Mook’s op-ed.

When Mook goes high, though, the Russian Embassy goes for the bad dog meme.

It’s not the first time, either, although in December the embassy used a different naughty dog to make its point.

Sad! OK, kind of funny, but still sad. A lot of Democrats are #StillWithHer and would happily keep poking Russia simply to deal damage to President Trump, regardless of how inane some of the allegations over Russian election meddling turned out to be.

Don’t think that Russia hasn’t picked up on the media’s other recent obsession, either:
