President Donald Trump managed to keep people guessing until 8 p.m. who his SCOTUS nominee would be, which didn’t leave much time for that small but growing group of protesters outside of the Supreme Court to work up their signs denouncing the president’s “extreme and dangerous” pick.
Progressive groups and communication specialists are here for what is an -organized – and organic demonstration #SCOTUS
— Kelly O'Donnell (@KellyO) February 1, 2017
organic? Hahaha
— Jean-Luc Picard (@gm5626) February 1, 2017
People for the American Way had encouraged the public to join the organization in front of the Supreme Court to protest Trump’s extreme and dangerous nominee, whoever it might turn out to be.
If you're in DC, join us at the Supreme Court TONIGHT to protect the Constitution & say NO extreme #SCOTUS nominee! https://t.co/CF9E9cn5w2
— PFAW (@peoplefor) January 31, 2017
The protest might have been delayed a minute or so so that the organizers could make sure they were handing out the correct set of signs to the members of the organic demonstration.
#BREAKING: protesters at #SupremeCourt already have signs opposing #Gorsuch nomination. Small crowd, but growing. #abc7ny pic.twitter.com/CTwbFuq9Kc

We live in such an odd time. People outside SCOTUS with professional "Neil Gorsuch: Extreme and Dangerous" signs already. pic.twitter.com/TgZ2LSK1ba

Nothing says grassroots like preprinted signs pic.twitter.com/0jT09QqEhe

HAHAHAHAHA!
Where are the vag-hats? https://t.co/o4wwb2gT9H— Kurt Schlichter (@KurtSchlichter) February 1, 2017
Amazing how all these protesters had the same idea to professionally design and print out anti-Gorsuch signs! Like minds I guess! #SCOTUS
— Dana Loesch (@DLoesch) February 1, 2017
And then when all those protesters went to take their pro-designed signs to Kinkos they met up and decided to protest all together I guess!

Wow, protesters. That was unexpected. Could it be, though, that progressives again overplayed their hand?

@benshapiro Are you watching Bizarro CNN?
— Dan the Man ??? (@DPNJ) February 1, 2017
Maybe because a bunch of democrats voted for him in 2006.
— Born Again Right (@BornAgainRight) February 1, 2017
Trump putting Democrats in a tough spot to oppose a nominee confirmed unanimously by the Senate in 2006. Oppose him at their own peril.

Chuck Schumer, huh? Was he crying when he cast that vote?
Gorsuch has "repeatedly sided with corporations over working people" & "demonstrated a hostility toward women's rights," Sen. Schumer says. pic.twitter.com/0ANqxXaWbD
— CBS News (@CBSNews) February 1, 2017
Sasse breaks through with humor: "Schumer is about to tell Americans that Judge Gorsuch kicks puppies and heckles piano recitals."
— Rick Klein (@rickklein) February 1, 2017
Schumer is surely smart enough not to let Gorsuch be the nuclear option judge. Because moderate Senators would push that button for Gorsuch.
— Adam White (@adamjwhitedc) February 1, 2017
It’s very possible this won’t be the only Supreme Court nominee of the Trump administration; maybe save some outrage in reserve?
Lotta happy conservatives right now. Trump needs it too, right now.

Gorsuch is as good as it gets. First-rate intellect. Has integrity. Writes brilliantly. And, most important, he treats his role properly.
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) February 1, 2017
And, like Scalia, Gorsuch isn’t a conservative so much as a textualist and an originalist who takes the law as the law and not as putty.
— Charles C. W. Cooke (@charlescwcooke) February 1, 2017
Which is to say that he not only has the correct attitude toward the law, but he’s brilliantly talented to boot. The best pick possible.

Solicitor general Neal Katyal, who served under Obama, says he "strongly" supports Gorsuch for the court. pic.twitter.com/Gd2TFiOhes

I worked for Obama. And I endorse Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court. https://t.co/5kVBUSHJUh pic.twitter.com/zvfh8wqyfb

For the record, Judge Garland, a personal friend, should be on the Supreme Court. On the merits. Merit often loses to politics.
— David Gregory (@davidgregory) February 1, 2017
Sounds like a solid choice.
Neil Gorsuch has a record of hostility to women's reproductive rights & to issues of discrimination and police brutality. #StopGorsuch
— Sierra Club (@SierraClub) February 1, 2017
Based on the long and well-established record of Judge Neil Gorsuch, I will oppose his nomination. https://t.co/iYbOWwwGoS
— Elizabeth Warren (@SenWarren) February 1, 2017
Definitely a solid choice.

Update:
Sen. Ben Sasse found at least one sign that wasn’t 100 percent prefabricated.
Went to the Supreme Court to talk to the protesters. But it turns out to be a Mad-Lib protest.#Fill-In-The-Blank pic.twitter.com/y156wBskMf
