Social media is currently buzzing over a horrifying, live-streamed video showing the apparent beating and torture of a disabled white man by a group of black teens who have been taken into custody by Chicago police, but it’s not the only video of interracial violence in the news today.
No, the cell phone video of a police officer pinning down a black teen at a pool party in McKinney, Texas, has resurfaced, as the girl in the video has filed a $5 million lawsuit against the city, the police department, and the former cop she says injured her and violated her constitutional rights.

The Dallas News reports that Dajerria Becton and her legal guardian, Shashona Becton, allege that her constitutional rights were violated by Cpl. Eric Casebolt, who used excessive force and held her without probable cause. The family also blames the city and police department for her injuries, alleging that police were not trained adequately.
The video of the June 2015 incident drew nationwide attention to McKinney and attracted protesters from around the country, including activist DeRay Mckesson.
