New York Times gives a peek at President Obama's private sympathy sessions with tearful staffers

On Friday, New York Times reporter Julie Hirschfeld Davis sent a dispatch from the White House, where administration staffers remain very, very sad.

Davis notes that many of the younger White House staffers got their start as members of Barack Obama’s campaign team in 2008, and so “remember only one type of feeling the day after a presidential election: the euphoria of a history-making victory, coupled with a sense of invincibility from beating the odds.”

“This is the opposite of that,” she writes.

Yeah, it’s called losing. It happens.

Fortunately, the president has been there to give everything from private sympathy sessions to a talk in the Rose Garden.

There’s much more to the article than that, but without a doubt, what makes it all worth it is the accompanying photo of the assembled staff looking glum and disconsolate.
