Katie Pavlich calls out St. Louis police chief for blaming gun shows for spread of illegal firearms

Murder rates have risen in at least 35 U.S. cities this year, with St. Louis experiencing a nearly 60 percent increase in homicides over 2014. Chief Sam Dotson of the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department appeared as a guest today on CNN’s “The Lead,” where host Jake Tapper asked him about recent slayings of police officers as well as gun violence in particular.

Asked by Tapper where criminals are getting their guns, Dotson singled out the lax laws associated with gun shows, where people “with no identification at all” can sell and trade guns, putting guns in the hands of criminals “very easily.”
