As many noticed, the mainstream media were awfully quiet about the shocking video revealing organ harvesting by Planned Parenthood — that is, until Planned Parenthood released its own spin on the “heavily edited” video to provide journalistic “balance” to the story. Turns out that body parts like the heart and liver are just code words for “tissue,” which scientists use for research to produce amazing cures.
Time for a subtle tweak to the bias meter in hopes that no one notices.

A comparison of revisions to the piece as analyzed at NewsDiffs.org also shows extensive changes to the text of the piece over the course of the day.
Deborah Nucatola, Planned Parenthood’s senior director of medical research, is no longer “sipping red wine” while explaining how to preserve the organs of an aborted fetus while “crushing” it; added is the sentence, “In the video, Nucatola appears to allude to methods for carefully extracting the organs.” An entire paragraph about fetal tissue research is added: “In the 1980s and 1990s, researchers considered fetal tissue transplants a budding treatment for Parkinson’s disease and diabetes. Some believed they held the potential to prevent autism.” And so on.
