'The hope still lives': Obamas to celebrate life and career of Ted Kennedy at dedication ceremony

Were we the Democrat Party, we wouldn’t go around in 2015 bragging about President Lyndon B. Johnson kicking off the “war on poverty” more than 50 years ago. Who knows? We also might keep our reverence of the late Sen. Ted Kennedy in check, or at least avoid the words “live” and “die” when tweeting about him.

We’re not Democrats, though, and President Obama, first lady Michelle Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden are all expected in Boston March 30 to attend the dedication of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, celebrate Kennedy’s long, long 47-year career in the Senate, and tactfully ignore some “personal” details.
