JetBlue earns props for offering free flights to police attending slain NYPD officers' funerals

Here’s a year-end palate cleanser for anyone still bitter about that incident where a US Airways flight attendant refused to let a U.S. Army Ranger hang up his uniform jacket because the rack was reserved for first-class passengers. Airline JetBlue has announced that it will offer free flights to law enforcement officers attending the funerals of slain NYPD officers Rafael Ramos and Wenjian Liu.

JetBlue spokeswoman Sharon Jones confirmed the offer to the New York Post. “We’re honored to do what we can to support the communities we serve, and our team has made flights available to law enforcement agencies … who wish to send representatives to New York to support their brethren,” she said.
