Rupert Murdoch calls for ban on automatic weapons; 'When will politicians find courage?'

Rupert Murdoch surprised many today by tweeting his support for a ban on automatic weapons. Murdoch’s stance isn’t wholly surprising, as he came out in favor of more strict gun control after the summer’s shooting spree in Aurora, Colo. Many, though, see Murdoch’s media properties as pro-gun violence, apparently.

Closer attention to the reports coming out of his media properties would have informed Murdoch that automatic weapons weren’t used in today’s mass shooting in Newtown, Conn.
