Burger flippers, hairdressers to enjoy 'Recovery Summer' at last

There are some jobs you just can’t outsource no matter how hard you try. The Wall Street Journal credits this fact, among others, for a hot summer market for service-related jobs.

Before, during and after the recession, demand for one sort of worker has been persistently stronger: jobs that involve assisting or caring for other people—from fast-food workers to home-health aides to nail polishers.

New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg hoped to add to the recovery today by kicking off the city’s summer youth employment program. Curiously, the linked YouTube video of the launch has been removed by the user.
