As Twitchy reported earlier today, NPR said it would no longer post to its 52 official Twitter feeds after Musk tagged NPR as “state-affiliated media.” NPR actually considers itself independent journalism and will not be placed in the same camp as news feeds from Russia or China.
We wish NPR would make up its mind … it continually claims that it receives practically nothing from the federal government … a fraction of a percent. If that’s true, then why would NPR oppose efforts to defund it and prove itself truly independent?
NPR reporters and staffers are still allowed to post to Twitter if they wish, and we bet they will. NPR business reporter sent a portion of NPR’s statement to Twitter CEO Elon Musk and asked for comment. What’s Musk’s reaction to NPR taking its ball and going home?

Defund @NPR

Perfect.
This alone is worth $8 / month.

If they aren’t government funded, they surely wouldn’t object to being government defunded!
— Isaac Latterell (@IsaacLatterell) April 12, 2023
I’ve been saying that for quite some time! Let’s get it done!

It's well past time for NPR to be defunded and strewn upon the ash heap of history.

Amidst the ongoing controversy between @NPR and @Twitter, some wonder why NPR isn't scrutinizing its own government funding instead of solely blaming the social media platform.
Reject government funding and establish yourself as an independent or publicly-funded entity.

This NPR thing has exposed them for exactly what they are: political zealots living in a fantasy world. For God's Sake, don't tell NPR precisely what they are.

A government funded media is not media, it's political propaganda. Defund @NPR

While separation of church and state is important, separation of the press and state is critical to a free society.

Transparency is very important. That Twitter is a place we can trust is so important. It is so refreshing. Appreciate everything you’re doing @elonmusk 🙏🏻

The commies don’t like it when we state the obvious. 🧐🤨

@DefundBBC we need an international movement here.

Yeah, the BBC is butthurt that it’s been labeled government-funded media — which it is.
Now do CBC. It receives 70% of it's money from the government

I’m really gonna miss those articles about trans-inclusive phone emojis
— anon (@FluentNinjitsu) April 12, 2023
We’re going to miss NPR’s tweets only because we like to dunk on them so hard. They make it easy as biased as they are.
