We’re with Glenn Greenwald on this one; we’ll never stop talking about the Hunter Biden laptop scandal, either. And we’re not talking about the scandalous material on the laptop, but the mainstream media ignoring the story and social media censoring it, locking out the New York Post for weeks and refusing to let people link to the story or share it. Talk about election interference. But sure, Major Garrett, the 2020 election was “the greatest success of American democracy in history.”
Mediaite reported Friday that the former heads of MSNBC and CNN defended their coverup of the laptop story to CNN’s Michael Smerconish at the Un-Convention, an “exploration of political reforms to improve our election systems and policy ideas to govern a divided country.”

Alex Griffing reports that Jeff Zucker, when asked why CNN didn’t cover the story more, explained:
We did. We did look into it. But first of all, you know, with regard to the son of the candidate, you know, he was the son of the candidate. He wasn’t the candidate. The question that you’ll come back with is, well, but what role did the candidate play in his business dealings? You know, frankly, with ten days or two weeks to go, it was looked at by very credible organizations, including The Wall Street Journal —Rupert Murdoch’s Wall Street Journal — and they found nothing at that time.
Okay. So my point is, it’s easy to say we should have spent more time on that. Listen, do I think it’s legitimate to look at. Sure. Do I think that like it’s a legitimate criticism to say that in the ten days, 14 days prior to the election, you didn’t spend enough time on it? Not really.
“But, you know, in the 11 days prior to the election, it involves the son of a candidate, you know, who clearly has issues and troubles. You know, what is the extent to which you should do it?” Zucker added when pressed further. So he’s essentially saying it would have hurt his candidate so close to the election.
Glenn Greenwald says he’ll never stop talking about this journalistic scandal:
The issue isn't so much NBC and CNN failed to cover the materials in the Hunter Biden laptop about *Joe Biden's* business activities in Ukraine and China (though that's true).
The main issue is that both networks repeatedly *lied* about it by calling it "Russian disinformation." https://t.co/Yut9qe74EA

I'll never stop talking about this and don't care if it's annoying.
This is a huge journalistic scandal: almost every major news outlet ratified an outright lie to manipulate the 2020 election and – to this day – not one of them, not one, has apologized, explained or retracted. pic.twitter.com/O6ooGGlWHz
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) October 14, 2022
This is why I say – and I mean – that these corporate news outlets and their employees deserve your deep contempt.
They constantly lecture everyone about "disinformation," about "big lies", etc. They're the biggest liars of all, with zero accountability.https://t.co/X8P8FMlauC
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) October 14, 2022
I promise you: if you talk to @HuffPost's political reporters and editors, they really believe they're the good guys, fighting disinformation, etc. etc.
Right before the election, they produced this Biden *campaign video* based an on outright CIA lie:👇pic.twitter.com/r7dRf9aH20

Every time I say this – these corporate news outlets deserve your hatred and contempt – people in these outlets, including friends, DM me, upset.
But tell me: how can you justify this? Everyone knows this was a CIA lie. Yet *not one of you* has admitted you broadcast lies. pic.twitter.com/HclAxm9kXo
— Glenn Greenwald (@ggreenwald) October 14, 2022
And let me add: it wasn't when NYT and WP finally "confirmed" the authenticity of the Hunter laptop did it become clear this was a CIA lie.
It was clear from the start. This is what I said on Rogan's show on 10/29/20: the day before I quit The Intercept:pic.twitter.com/Fby4SGxvzV

I think they should change the term conspiracy theory to spoiler alert.

They all just keep becoming true don’t they?

“Hunter was never arrested” is to the Ukraine storyline what “Pfizer never said it stopped transmission” is to the Covid storyline
— Silenced on Site (@77_steeze) October 15, 2022
They all lied to protect Biden, but I'm not sure that is turning out to be such a good deal. Could take a decade though before anyone is willing to fess up and provide any regret. Maybe once the ring leaders retire they'll write some books and provide some "perspective".
— Andy Finkbeiner (@AndyFinkbeiner) October 14, 2022
They all lied and all took cover under the “Russian disinformation” talking point, which they came up with and reinforced. Even DHS’s Minister of Truth, Nina Jankowicz, called it “a fairy tale about a laptop repair shop.” She never apologized, and neither will the media. Like Harry Reid said of lying about Mitt Romney’s taxes: “It worked, didn’t it?”
