Now seems as good a time as any to revisit this tweet from Hillary Clinton from 2016:
Donald Trump refused to say that he’d respect the results of this election. By doing that, he’s threatening our democracy.
— Hillary Clinton (@HillaryClinton) October 21, 2016
At Wednesday’s rare press conference, President Joe Biden was asked if the upcoming election would be legitimate if the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act fail to pass (which they’re not going to). Biden’s answer? “It all depends.”
REPORTER: "Do you still believe the upcoming election will be fairly conducted and the results will be legitimate?"
BIDEN: "It all depends depends on whether or not we're able to make the case to the American people that some of this is being set up to alter the outcome…" pic.twitter.com/COdhiTEYhh

Asked if upcoming election will be fair and legitimate if voting rights legislation doesn’t pass, Biden said: “It all depends on whether or not we're able to make the case to the American people that some of this is being set up to try to alter the outcome of the election.”

I was reliably informed by Democrats that this kind of conspiratorial rhetoric is "a threat to democracy!" https://t.co/9mIQOK1Zus

He's undermining the election.

Nice. Just blatantly and proactively undermining the integrity of elections.
More than ever, I want to see the bill fail just so I can watch dems spend months trying to convince voters that the election may be stolen— Invisible Constituent (@JustGreggo) January 19, 2022
I’m old enough to remember when a statement like that would generate mass outrage from our fearless media
— Unconquerable Soul (@InvictusUSA1) January 19, 2022
So he's promoting a conspiracy theory. Nice to know.

Nice to know the man who won the presidency with 81 million votes is concerned about voter suppression keeping Democrats from winning.
After Biden won, the Dems were pretty adamant on how fair the elections were and anyone who questioned the integrity of the election were accused of being conspiracy theorists.

Well, they asked the question I wanted. And he went there. The official position of the Biden White House is that the 2022 elections are not legitimate. https://t.co/QHCsNZ8uC9 https://t.co/WjzncF7fhy

He's doing more to undermine faith in election outcomes than Trump.
— mallen2010 (@mallen_2010) January 19, 2022
Biden really is trying to preemptively sow doubt on the legitimacy of elections. It’s becoming clear that’s what this is all about.
— AshleeLee (@MsAshleeLee) January 19, 2022
It’s entirely possible Biden doesn’t remember, but Democrats haven’t necessarily accepted the outcome of quite a few elections. Bush was illegitimate, Trump was illegitimate, Stacey Abrams was robbed, etc.
