Remember that GOP tax bill that Rep. Nancy Pelosi called “Armageddon” and “the end of the world” and that was going to kill everybody who wasn’t already dead from the repeal of net neutrality?
Blue states like New York and California with their insanely high taxes weren’t happy about cuts to state and local tax deductions — residents were actually going to feel the brunt of those state and local taxes.
In response, New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood announced (in a video no less) that New York was filing suit against that unconstitutional tax law, saying “New York will not be bullied.”

Wait — she explains in a follow-up just exactly how the law is unconstitutional.

“Similar states” meaning those with, like we said, ridiculously high taxes. How about lowering those taxes if you’re so worried about residents being bullied?
For those scoring at home: NY is mad that the federal government doesn’t have a tax break to cover their high state taxes. https://t.co/LWZop9ifg3

Thanks for wasting my tax money on your demented, ludicrous, unconstitutional idiocy, you unelected moron https://t.co/VuozzStl0F

This is a completely idiotic lawsuit. Idea that limiting a federal tax deduction in a way that applies equally to all states is a violation of state sovereignty is absurd. https://t.co/nCRfHoNl34

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen since the last most ridiculous thing. There is nothing in the constitution that requires Congress to give ANY tax break at ALL for state and local taxes. I know you aren't that stupid, you are betting the people following you are.

I see that you have no comprehension of constitutional law. How did you become attorney general?

Every tax is targeted in one form or another. So there should be no taxes? Besides, I thought you would support higher taxes on the rich.

Your friendly reminder that this tax law change affects almost no one under $150K a year, which means this is a tax on the top quintile of earners.
Of course, it really hits the richest 10% the hardest. It's quite progressive that way. https://t.co/OquTk9DvdL— PoliMath (@politicalmath) July 17, 2018

Get your house in order. We are not subsidizing your socialist state. High taxes are YOUR problem. https://t.co/rUjySjwTbL

You could always revise your state taxes. I mean, if you actually give a crap. Responsible leaders find ways to make the situation work. You? You run to the courts to save your politicians from having to do work.

You know what would save me tax dollars? Less grandstanding and frivolous lawsuits by the AG https://t.co/FBSUiAry72
