You might have noticed that CNN has been going big on town halls recently. The network has hosted a few on tax reform and Obamacare, though they always seem to feature Bernie Sanders standing in for Democrats — maybe they’re afraid to come on the network.
This coming Wednesday, CNN will host a town hall featuring classmates and parents of the victims of the Feb. 14 mass shooting at a high school in Parkland, Fla.
“Stand Up: The Students of Stoneman Douglas Demand Action” will air Feb. 21 at 9 p.m.

Will this be like the town hall you held with Steve Scalise and the other Republicans who were shot last year by a Bernie supporter? https://t.co/t1rhimzX95

Am I the only one this seems exploitative to? To invite politicians so hurting people can yell at them while everything is raw seems wrong. Add to that if they take commercial breaks… https://t.co/1hLeis93ml

This is gross. Using victims and kids to push an agenda. Nothing can be gained by this. They are going to be angry and upset. Public policy should not be dictated on emotional responses. https://t.co/9rVYiqWXC2

Like we can’t see through this agenda.? Let’s exploit these grieving families and give them someone to yell at. It’s not Republicans or NRA or the 20,000 gun laws already on the books. It’s simply the asshole who pulled the trigger that even admitted he would & was not stopped. https://t.co/yIjw2NLR3E

This makes me ill. This is ratings grabbing off of people still in shock and grief. https://t.co/VjYLS3ZgwG

CNN never wastes an opportunity to exploit victims of a horrific tragedy to help itself.
Absolutely disgusting. https://t.co/7fcW0UKpCe

Wow…this isn't exploiting a tragedy…nope…not at all… https://t.co/6WtMDO5To8

I am not sure how I feel about this. This feels like it's exploitation of grief to get ratings/headlines https://t.co/qRE8MPw07T

How many people from the FBI, Broward Police, Dept. of Family Services & School Board will be on the panel? You know, the law enforcement & government-run agencies that were entrusted to protect society & let this guy fall through the cracks? https://t.co/EX02cWLVPW
