I didn't vote for Joe Biden in 2020, and while I was disappointed with the election's outcome, at least I wasn't hoodwinked like the Democratic Party voters who pulled the lever for old Grandpa Joe.
Because Joe Biden was never president. Sure, he held the title and was the public face of the White House, but behind the scenes, his administration was run by a cadre of staffers who decided they had to destroy democracy to save it from the 'existential threat' that they claim Donald Trump is.
Spare me.
This entire scam was aided and abetted by the media, of course. They didn't 'miss' this story. They weren't lied to by the White House. They didn't miraculously realize Joe Biden's brain was applesauce on June 27, 2024.
They knew. The entire time.
You know how I know that? I was sitting at home, watching the 2020 election coverage, and I saw it. Biden was every dementia patient I've ever cared for.
And so did millions of other Americans. We all were dismissed as conspiracy theorists, generators of 'cheap fakes' and ridiculed by ... guys like Jake Tapper and Alex Thompson.
So for Tapper to go on Piers Morgan and not only refuse to apologize, but to give people like me a lame 'acknowledgement' isn't going to cut it.
PIERS: Do you feel that you owe the American people an apology, not just to Lara Trump?

TAPPER: I feel like I owe the American people an “acknowledgement” that I wish I had covered the story better
Wow! pic.twitter.com/QD1VRySISF
No, Tapper doesn't wish he'd covered the story better.'
He wishes we hadn't caught him running cover for the Biden administration, because that's what he did.
There is a small class of journalists, including those in the White House Press Corps, whose entire job is to dig for information and report the facts. Some of these people had access to the very staffers your co-author described as part of the 'politburo' who ran the Biden administration.
Tapper didn't do that. And neither did any of his fellow journalists. Instead, Tapper chided Lara Trump about kids with stutters and asked about Trump's cognitive health.
And now Tapper expects me to believe that this small number of people were the only ones in the nation who didn't see what was going on with Joe Biden until eleven months ago? When the rest of us saw it five years prior?
We're not stupid, even if Tapper thinks we are.
As always, the problem isn't just the lie -- it's the lying about the lie, which is what Tapper is doing now. He continues to damage his profession for the sake of his own ego (and his book sales).
The only way forward is not 'acknowledgement' that Tapper shamelessly shilled for the Democratic Party, but to hold everyone involved with this -- from Kamala Harris and Jill Biden right on down to the lowest level coffee-grabber intern -- accountable.
Name names.
Get them on the record. Demand to know why they undermined democracy to 'save' democracy from Donald Trump.
Demand that the Republican Congress hold hearings and mete out the appropriate consequences to the wrongdoers.
That won't happen, of course, and it's folly to pretend it ever will. That being said, I do appreciate that Tapper has acknowledged I (and countless others like me) did his job better than he did. Granted, that's a low bar.
Jake Tapper helped the Democratic Party -- the self-professed, so-called 'defenders of democracy' -- install a politburo in the White House to run this nation against the will of the people. It violated the Constitution and every political norm, and they just shrug it off as if there was nothing they could have done about it.
Until he, and countless others, face professional and personal consequences for it, his acknowledgement is not just worthless, it's insulting.
