Another day, another fake story to debunk, this time out of Brooklyn where there were reports earlier on Sunday of widespread of “possible vandalism” of the mainly Jewish Washington Cemetery. Note how Sen. Chuck Schumer linked to this early report as if it were fact:
NYPD says anti-Semitic incidents up 94%. Brooklyn's Washington Cemetery is another appalling example. It must stop. https://t.co/gtq3ZYP91v
— Chuck Schumer (@SenSchumer) March 5, 2017
The incident was first reported to the NYPD by NYS Assemblyman Dov Hikind. Again note the certainty of an anti-Semitic attack in his tweets:
40+ stones knocked down here at Washington Cemetery – one of the largest Jewish cemeteries. Heartbreaking #Antisemitism pic.twitter.com/sHnPkUnonB

Can anything be more cowardly than desecrating a cemetery in the middle of the night? pic.twitter.com/tXf7WjsB8R

Although, right from the start, there were questions if any vandalism occurred at all at the cemetery as the grounds are in awful condition:

A few hours later, the NYPD confirmed that Schumer and others were too quick to label this a hate crime:
NYPD now says there's no evidence of vandalism. https://t.co/umdkoLLkPb https://t.co/ZjPQvjtOcY

Good question. Where were Schumer and Hikind before today?
