President Obama sat Monday for a Facebook Live interview with Buzzfeed legal editor Chris Geidner, during which he again encouraged the Republican-led Senate to do its job, put politics aside, and vote to confirm his “wicked smart” nominee for the Supreme Court.

Good to know that in filling a lifetime position on the highest court in the land, the president found the perfect choice “for this moment.” That moment, though, was two months ago.
Two months to the day since making SCOTUS nomination, Pres Obama says Judge Garland is "wicked smart" & even GOP says he's "a great judge."

Of course there’s a punchline, and that is where President Obama says that it’s especially important not to politicize SCOTUS nominees due to the craziness of the election year — which sounds like a perfectly sound reason to delay a vote. That excuse worked for Joe Biden, after all.
In @BuzzFeedNews interview, Pres Obama says "because this election year has been so crazy," GOP should not politicize his SCOTUS nomination.

Of course that's nothing like what he said as sen. obama.

Pres. Obama just claimed there is a "constitutional obligation" for the Senate to have a hearing on his #SCOTUSnominee. Sen. Reid disagrees.

Textually, there is no such obligation. Nor has this been a general practice demonstrating such an obligation. https://t.co/f9R1oA1lq2

weird he didn't invite Alito, the man he voted to filibuster, to sit with him @markknoller

Agree that nom deserves vote but silly 4 Dems, who've elevated only ideologues for 50 years, 2 say it's above politics.

If Buzzfeed brought up either the “Biden Rule” or Obama’s filibuster of Justice Alito during the interview, it didn’t make their write-up.
Karma's a bitch, Barack. A real bitch.
