The California Senate Republican Caucus drew the obvious connection to Sen. Elizabeth Warren by adding the hashtag #ShePersisted to its tweet. According to the Sacramento Bee, Sen. Nguyen, a Vietnamese refugee, had begun to criticize the late Democrat lawmaker Tom Hayden just two days after he had been memorialized.
Hayden, an anti-war activist who traveled with then-wife Jane Fonda to North Vietnam in 1974, drew criticism from Nguyen, who said Hayden “sided with the communist government that enslaved and killed millions of Vietnamese, including my family.”
Extremely grateful for the support for my #1stAmendment right to speak for the memory of those who fled persecution after the Vietnam War.

From Assembly Member Melissa Melendez:
CA senate dems honored Tom Hayden Tuesday, who said "a long-term goal of mine: the peaceful, nonviolent disappearance of the white race" MM
