A huge metal statue of a strutting overweight black woman in a blue dress and heels now towers over visitors to Trafalgar Square. The artist said this ‘Everywoman’ piece is ‘the city’s spirit.' Posters online are calling it an eyesore that doesn’t belong in London.

Roughly 15 percent of women in London are black.
It turns out the artist isn’t British; she’s American. Posters say the ‘art’ is embarrassing, not inspiring.
An American Black artist was commissioned to create a statue of a Black woman that she claims represents an ordinary contemporary Londoner. Having discarded the old historical and mythological heroes, the postmodern-liberal mindset has to manufacture new ones to occupy the empty… pic.twitter.com/ACA8Y8VUYS

(post continues) ... plinths, imposing its ideology on society.
The purpose of contemporary public art is not to educate, or to inspire, but to humiliate the native population, so the uglier it is, the better.

The country of Margaret Thatcher and Queen Elizabeth, and this is the woman they choose to make a statue of. 🤯

London traded Queen Elizabeth for ‘Yassss Queen!’
Commenters can’t get past how racially offensive the statue looks.

If I had never heard about this statue, and you showed me it and told me it was made in the deep south in the 60's as an insulting caricature for black women I'd believe you in a heartbeat. pic.twitter.com/qwazvFkGIH

If the artist had been white, this statue would have never been unveiled.
Now enjoy this ‘actual’ video of the statue. (WATCH)

It looks like her dress is made out of laughy taffy. Which fits because this "artwork" is a joke. pic.twitter.com/lQPd5gIoF4

They pulled down the fabric covering that statue, and it looked exactly the same. It only proves that not every woman can be a twerk of art.
