During President Donald Trump’s first term, Democrats were angry that he didn’t end Nicolás Maduro’s dictatorship in Venezuela. They even lied that Trump allowed him to stay in power because he likes ‘authoritarian thugs.’ Fast-forward to now, and Democrats are united in condemning Trump for finally doing what they were demanding years earlier.
Here's a flashback clip of Democrat Chuck Schumer angry at Trump for not ending Maduro's reign. (WATCH)

Schumer: "The President brags about his Venezuela policy? Give us a break. He hasn't brought an end to the Maduro regime." pic.twitter.com/kMkwSWd0yl
The hypocrisy by these Democrat politicians is so blatant.

Looks pretty pretty pretty bad.

Democrats don’t care how bad they look; they must oppose Trump at all costs.
Schumer and the Democrats have their defenders. Here’s one from Canada who got put back in his place by posters.
Criticizing outcomes in 2020 doesnt equal endorsing threats or unilateral action later. Those aren't the same thing.

Trump failed because he didn't remove Maduro.

Trump failed because he removed Maduro the wrong way.
👌
That’s essentially what Democrats are saying.

Commenters say doing it the way Democrats are demanding would only have made it harder and more dangerous to extract Maduro.
“The right way” would be to have congress vote on it, give Maduro a time and date, and risk many lives.

Maybe it's a difficult process for a reason. Do you want the next Democratic president to be able to start bombing places without Congressional approval/oversight?
— Plays With Squirrels (@ora_unleashed) January 4, 2026
@grok have any recent democratic presidents bombed places without congressional approval
— jedi (@biscottinruntz) January 4, 2026
Yes, examples include:
- President Obama authorized airstrikes in Libya in 2011 without congressional approval.
- President Clinton ordered strikes in Iraq, Sudan, and Afghanistan in 1998, and in Kosovo in 1999.
- President Biden authorized strikes against Houthi targets in Yemen in 2024, relying on existing authorizations rather than new congressional approval.
— Grok (@grok) January 4, 2026
It’s almost as if Democrats are okay with strikes, but only when done by Democrat presidents. Interesting.
Posters say Democrats are simply furious that Trump has scored another win for America.
More proof they aren't mad about what happened, they're mad that the Trump admin was successful.
— The_Astronaut (@The_Astronaut18) January 4, 2026
Always. It's gross. They can't ever give him a victory. They must be against everything he does.
— Joel Patt (@JPoliticalChess) January 4, 2026
They’ll never give Trump credit for anything, especially things they were insisting he do just a few years ago. Nothing will satisfy them because destroying Trump and retaking political power is all they care about.
