Anthea Butler is an Associate Professor of Religious Studies at the University of Pennsylvania and author of “The Gospel According to Sarah: How Sarah Palin’s Tea Party Angels Are Galvanizing the Religious Right.”

Last fall, she argued that anti-Muslim filmmaker Sam Bacile was responsible for attacks on the US embassy in Cairo and, as a result, should be imprisoned.
