No one has ever accused Hakeem Jeffries of being bright. At least no one who's not lying to themselves and/or other people. But he somehow managed to fail upward into the position of House Democratic Leader, which is where he currently stands or sits. I don't know which would be correct in this case.
Anyway, as dumb as he is, he's at least smart enough to know that there are enough morons out there who will make it worth his while to shamelessly and blatantly lie to them about what's happening around them.
Unfortunately, he's still not smart enough to understand the power of Community Notes, who came for him in a big way over his insane claim about inflation and consumer prices under President Joe Biden:

President Biden hasn't delivered on anything, except stuff that no one was asking for. So that right there is a lie. But this business about Biden and Democrats lowering costs for everyday Americans and Jeffries' attempt to misrepresent how inflation works is just ... it's on a whole 'nother level of lie.

Wages are only up 1.2% due to inflation.
Inflation remains well above the target of 2% which will trigger another .25% interest rate increase on July 25-26.
Inflation was at 1.4% when Trump left office.
You realize that this means that inflation has slowed and not reversed right? This is compounding less inflation on the already inflated prices, bringing prices down would be DEFLATION which is not happening
