Nina Turner may not understand how inflation works, but that's not stopping her from pretending she does

Nina Turner may not seem like the sharpest tool in the drawer, but that's only because she isn't.

Seriously, the progressive former Ohio State Senator and current Senior Fellow at the Institute for Race, Power, and Policy has a rather impressive track record of very bad takes (although, to be fair, she occasionally stumbles into a good one).

And today, she offered up another bad take. This particular one had to do with the U.S. economy. In case you missed it, the rate of inflation slowed last month:

But consumer prices just aren't coming down:

More than two years into the current bout of inflation, the debate over its causes and the potential duration are ongoing — as well as the questions about how long it will take for monetary policy to rein it in.

“Neither consumers nor the Federal Reserve are popping the champagne just yet,” Mark Hamrick, senior economic analyst at Bankrate, said in a note Monday, adding: “Americans have put the worst of inflation behind, but the war hasn’t yet been won.”

For what it's worth, Nina Turner is quite certain as to what the problem is:

IS THAT WHAT IT'S CALLED, NINA?

That seems like ... not the correct explanation.

Good. Then you'll really enjoy the responses Nina's been getting.

Heh.

Sigh.

Although it's not really that complicated.

Supposedly Nina Turner knows things, but the rate at which evidence emerges to support that is increasingly negative.

Narrator: Damin was, in fact, not surprised.

Nina is! And she's damn proud of it, too.

Clearly not. Otherwise she wouldn't keep doing this kind of stuff.

It's OK, Nina. You don't have to tell us. We know. Good Lord, do we know.

And if you're too short on time to do that, Nina:

It's only one chapter, Nina.
