As you may or may not know, the Senate Judiciary Committee is having a hearing today on the Supreme Court’s ethics (or, rather, a politically and racially motivated pile-on on Justice Clarence Thomas disguised as a hearing on the Supreme Court’s ethics). Naturally, Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has already made a complete ass of himself. But why should he have all the fun?
His colleague Dick Durbin wanted a bite at that apple, too.
And he got it this morning on MSNBC and Twitter:
It’s time for us to say to the Supreme Court: the highest court in the land shouldn’t have the lowest standard of ethics in the federal government.

Dick Durbin doesn’t think the Supreme Court should have the lowest standard of ethics. OK. First off, the Supreme Court does not have the lowest standard of ethics in the federal government. And if the Supreme Court’s standard of ethics is low, where does that put Congress’? In the negatives?
Does Dick Durbin own a mirror? Who the hell is he to point fingers at anyone else about low ethical standards?

Dick Durbin’s not just a Senate Democrat, but he’s an Illinois Senate Democrat. That makes him even less ethical than the average Democrat in Congress.

At the moment, maybe the executive branch. Because Joe Biden. But even if that’s the case, Congress is nearly tied at a very close second.
