CNN's new hit piece on J.K. Rowling effectively amounts to 'outright slander by corporate media'

Earlier, we told you about the Washington Post’s new piece complaining about how conservatives and Republicans are always talking about wokeism despite not even understanding what wokeism is. WaPo’s piece basically consisted of the two authors undermining the entire premise of their argument.

But in case they need any additional help undermining themselves, here’s CNN with a handy assist:

Ah so.

“The ‘Harry Potter’ author has continued to make anti-transgender comments and promote stories on her Twitter account that discredit trans-inclusive advocacy” is pretty much textbook wokeism.

And this BS is pretty much textbook CNN:

In December 2019, Rowling publicly supported Maya Forstater, a former UK think tank employee who lost her job after she criticized UK government plans to allow residents to self-select their gender on identification documents. Forstater has said she believes that transgender women who have undergone gender reassignment surgery are men, regardless of their identification documents. She brought a claim against her company, accusing it of discrimination. She lost her case in an initial employment tribunal. (A different tribunal ruled in Forstater’s favor in 2022.)

Shortly after details of the first tribunal were released, Rowling tweeted: “Dress however you please. Call yourself whatever you like. Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you. Live your best life in peace and security. But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real? #IStandWithMaya #ThisIsNotADrill.”

This incident was one of the first to earn Rowling the label “TERF,” or trans-exclusionary radical feminist. It is used to describe self-proclaimed feminists who try to police the boundaries of womanhood by excluding trans women from the category.

Rowling tweeted that the “lived reality of women globally is erased” if sex “isn’t real,” a simplification of the idea shared by many LGBTQ advocates that one’s sex does not always dictate one’s gender. She also derided an opinion piece that used the phrase “people who menstruate,” a term inclusive of trans people who have periods but may not be women. It’s also not a common argument among advocates for trans equality that sex isn’t “real,” as Rowling asserted – sex and gender are separate and fluid, and neither has clear criteria – and there is no denying the impacts that both have in the lives of both cisgender and transgender people.

If you’re short on time and are unable to read the whole thing, all you really need to take away from CNN’s article — which is not designated as an opinion piece, by the way — is that J.K. Rowling is an anti-science transphobe who is actively working to undermine the trans community and cause them harm, both psychological and physical. Basically, for rejecting trans orthodoxy, she has blood on her hands.

Exactly.

Or, rather, what passes for journalism at CNN. What passes for journalism at CNN is woke ideology and fanning the flames of cancel culture.

Ah, but it’s become standard journalistic practice from CNN. Because CNN’s journalistic standards are poor ones.

Garbage “article” is littered with garbage.

Nope. Still fake news.

We’d say shame on CNN, but they’re clearly incapable of feeling any shame whatsoever.

What CNN needs to be feeling right now even more than shame is pain: the pain that comes with being taken to the cleaners for defamation. They’ve felt that pain before, and they clearly need to feel it again. Maybe one of these days they’ll learn their lesson.
